My new political movement

Prompted by the comments on Ms R's fabulous blog, and in the face of ever-increasing quantities of revolting skank parading as intellectual feminism, I am starting my own political movement.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you-Neo-Prudism.

It only gets 4 results on Google, so clearly I stand almost alone. I will be back with more when I've had time to think it through a bit.

Don't hold your breath...

intriguing idea but it may take a while for the movement to catch on. Maybe at the beginning you need to give out free stuff to get people to join. Like chastity belts or long veils or something.

Hi EmmaK and thanks so much for being my very first commenter!

Yes, Neo-Prudism would definitely be a very hard sell. I must define some key USPs to set it apart from old-school, reactionary, Daily Mail/Express-reader Prudism, or I'd have all those bastards wanting to join.

If I were briefing a brand consultant, I'd say NP can be sexy, but must be decorous. It's about outward behaviour, not inward repression. It's Katherine Jenkins, rather than [Generic Pop Slut], Catherine Zeta Jones instead of Paris Hilton.

The current trend for tits and arses wobbling about everywhere has got to come full circle sooner or later. And I'll have thought of a funny freebie by then...in the meantime, it's wine 'o' clock.
